  • Tell Me the Stories of Jesus

    Tell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear;

    Things I would ask him to tell me,

    if He were here:

    Scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea,

    Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.

    First let me hear how the children

    stood 'round His knee;

    And I shall fancy His blessing resting on me:

    Word full of kindness, deeds full of grace,

    All in the lovelight of Jesus' face.

    Into the city I'd follow the children's band,

    waving a branch of the palm tree high

    in my hand;

    One of His heralds, yes, I would sing

    Loudest hosannas! Jesus is King.

    Show me that scene in the garden, of bitter pain.

    Show me the cross where my Savior for me

    was slain.

    sad ones or bright ones, so that they be

    Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.

  • Verse for the day

    Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.  1 Peter 1:8-9

    4 years ago today my husband and I vowed before the Lord and family and friends to honor and cherish and love each other till death. In those 4 years the Lord has richly blessed us as 2 very independant people have learned to live together and trust the Lord in what he has in store for us.

    Thankyou, Lord for teaching me to love and patiently sculpting me into the woman
    and wife that you desire for me to be.

  • Well, we are getting closer to being finished with the bathroom. We sanded and put the second coat of paint on the doors and trim tonight. Jason has to finish the grout, install cupboards, shelves, carpet, toilet, sink, and the faucets. It still sounds like a lot but some of it could be wiped out in a weekend or evening once the grout is done. I don't have any pictures right now, will post them later.

    This week was our first kid's club for this season and was maxed out! So awesome to see so many children in the same place. We feed the children supper, last night we fed 61 kids and somewhere around 15-20 adults. They are learning about God's word and loving it.  PTL

  •   Last weekend was my youngest brothers wedding. Andrea and I went out to mom and dad's Wedneday night to help mom make the wedding cake on Thursday. She wanted a cake on every table along with a three tiered wedding cake, we had so much cake, I think a lot of it got pitched. The cake on each table was the centerpiece and there were 3 different kinds of cake, chocolate, white and lemon.

    Curtis & Ellie's wedding 003My job was to put the filling between the cakes and stack them and put them on the cake plates so mom and Andrea could decorate. I got lunch and tried to keep the kitchen cleaned up.

    Curtis & Ellie's wedding 004  It took 14 hrs from start to finish. They were already baked a couple of weeks before so all we had to do was decorate.

    We had to take the cakes to Huntington which was a 1/2 hour away and so dad made this handy dandy thing to set the cake stands through so they would stay up right and not fall over. It fit perfectly in the back of the suburban.

    Mom of course had rehearsal dinner and we made straw-hats and had homemade icecream and cookies. For anyone that doesn't know what straw-hats are, they are a build your own taco with cornchips on the bottom.

  • This weekend we went on a dune buggy run. Sat night we didn't get started till about 9:30 and then went to Red Front and ate pizza about 11:00 at night. That is very unusual for J and I but what the heck I guess it is good to break from the usual routine once in awhile. We had 6 buggies on that trip then on Sunday we went for another buggy run and had 9 buggies and a sand rail. It was hot and the sun was nice and bright so of course I got burnt to a crisp but so worth it. There isn't anything much better than being out in the wind and seeing the country side in the summer.
